death:

Upon completion of one's period of self-definition here on Earth [or elsewhere] -- usually marked by cessation of biologically active functions -- one exits this dimension and then is infused/confirmed-in the facets of grace corresponding to the values of self-definition with which one constructed one's unique identity.

It is possible that a person [Lazarus] could begin biological disintegration and even exiting of this dimension without also experiencing the soul's infusion/confirmation locking-in of grace facets that eternally identify one's self, in which case one is still not fundamentally "dead", because the soul continues to be in an ongoing "growth potential" state, whose termination alone truly marks "death".
